For our client, a rapidly growing company in the Venlo region, we are seeking a Finance Manager to lead and develop the accounting teams. This role offers you the opportunity to shape and standardize accounting processes while playing a key leadership role within the organization.
About the Role
In this newly created role, you’ll be responsible for managing and developing the accounting teams, covering activities such as Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, Taxes, Intercompany, Master Data Management, and Treasury. Reporting to the Executive Director of Accounting & Tax, you’ll take the lead in standardizing processes, facilitating the monthly financial close, and fostering seamless collaboration across departments. When the Executive Director is away, you’ll step up to ensure continuity and excellence in financial operations.
You will be directly managing 4 managers and indirectly overseeing a team of 35 finance staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with sub-teams to streamline and monitor accounting, accounts payables, and accounts receivables processes.
- Implement standardized processes and documentation to uphold financial control standards.
- Lead the monthly accounting cycle and close, focusing on meeting reporting deadlines and reviewing journal postings and other work performed by team members, as well as performing associated balance sheet reconciliations.
- Mentor and develop finance staff, nurturing talent and fostering growth.
- Support the implementation of a robust control environment focused on risk management and a strong internal control framework.
Profile:
- You have a master’s degree in Business, Accounting & Control, Economics, or Finance.
- You have expertise in technical IFRS accounting principles, complemented by a professional accountancy qualification.
- You are a proven leader who motivates and empowers their team while maintaining a hands-on approach (leading by example).
- You have keen attention to detail, ensuring financial accuracy and data integrity.
- You possess exceptional analytical skills with a passion for driving efficiency and accuracy.
